Service Description
YouTube Playlist Length Calculator is a free online tool that calculates the total duration of YouTube playlists and individual videos. Our service:
- Calculates total playlist length using the YouTube Data API
- Provides watch time estimates at various playback speeds (1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2x)
- Supports custom playback speed calculations
- Allows calculation of specific video ranges within playlists
We may add, improve, pause, or remove tools and features as the site evolves.
Usage Limits
To ensure fair usage and manage API quotas:
- Default limit of 500 videos per calculation
- Rate limiting may apply during high traffic periods
- Users may provide their own YouTube API key for higher limits or when server quota is exhausted
- Service availability is not guaranteed during peak usage times
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you agree not to:
- Attempt to overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt the website
- Use automated requests in a way that harms site stability
- Submit malicious input or attempt to bypass technical protections
- Use the site in violation of YouTube’s terms, applicable laws, or third-party rights
Accuracy Disclaimer
While we strive for accuracy:
- Duration data is fetched directly from YouTube’s Data API
- Some videos (private, deleted, region-restricted, or live streams) may not return duration data
- Playback speed calculations are mathematical estimates and may vary slightly from actual playback
- We are not responsible for any decisions made based on our calculations
Guides and Informational Content
This site also publishes product guides, help content, and examples related to YouTube playlist duration, timestamps, and thumbnail handling. That material is intended to explain workflows, edge cases, and common limitations around the tools on this site.
Those guides are informational only. They are not official YouTube documentation and should not be treated as a guarantee that YouTube will keep the same interfaces, metadata behavior, or URL behavior over time.
Third-Party Dependencies
The service depends in part on YouTube data availability, public metadata formats, and external infrastructure. If those systems change, some features may behave differently or become temporarily unavailable.
